Starving Wolves are an unmistakable force to be reckoned with. Hailing from Austin, Texas, Starving Wolves have been crafting their own brand of energetic punk since 2015.
Describing themselves as: “a heartfelt political punch to the teeth”, Starving Wolves embrace traditional punk elements like aggressive drumbeats and gruff vocals, while blending melodic guitars and singalong campfire choruses. Following an expansive touring schedule, they have established themselves as a road-ready punk rock ensemble.
Starting off as an offshoot of Krum Bums, a mid-00’s street punk outfit, frontman David Rodriguez reunited with bassist Zach Volta and guitarist Josh Langford to bring their already established chemistry to Starving Wolves. Kevin Nguyen crafted his fast paced, yet precise guitar style in the punk band, Evacuate, while newest member, Reeve Allen, completes the 5-piece group on drums.
In the span of a few years, Starving Wolves toured extensively. Their first tour of the southwest US with The Casualties in 2016, helped them to perfect their energetic live performance. Later tours with Leftover Crack, Bad Cop/Bad Cop, Dayglo Abortions, Call The Cops, and The Adicts reinforced their ability to pack a heavy punch on stage. Shortly after their 2016 run, The Casualties recruited Rodriguez to step in as their new vocalist following the departure of their original singer.
Starving Wolves have also brought their anthems to numerous festival lineups, including two consecutive appearances at Punk Rock Bowling and FYWROK. Other festival appearances include Remember The Punks with Fear and Good Riddance, Scallywag! with Rancid and Bad Religion, and Manic Relapse with Riistetyt and The Hat Trickers, proving that their sound resonates with diverse audiences within the punk community.
When not on the road, Starving Wolves have shared their hometown stages with punk legends such as Angelic Upstarts, English Dogs, The Vibrators, and GBH.
Starving Wolves are also celebrated for their philanthropy and using their stage as a platform to raise public awareness for various causes. In the last five years, they have raised over $40,000 in donations for the victims of the Australian wildfires, Standing Rock water protectors, and families affected by drunk drivers. They strive to create a positive and inclusive voice within the punk rock community by speaking up for marginalized voices.
